Bio
With over a decade of experience as a copywriter, Jon Podulka has developed integrated advertising campaigns for national brands including Domino’s, Corona, Tropicana, and Porsche, building a concept-driven creative approach that keeps the “big idea” front and center.
In 2022, he brought that expertise to Wizards of the Coast, where he spent two and a half years working on Magic: The Gathering as Senior Copywriter and later Senior Narrative Game Designer for Secret Lair. During that time, he developed product pitches, game components, and marketing copy for 100+ published releases, contributing to a product line that generated over $100M in 2024 alone.
In 2025, Jon launched Maximum Mischief, an independent game studio focused on creating tabletop experiences that combine amazing art, immersive narrative, and kickass gameplay.
When he’s not writing or designing games, Jon performs improv with Whimsy Lohan, plays electric guitar in the darkwave band Kill Scenes, and spends time with his pets and his wife, jazz vocalist Alyssa Allgood (seriously — look her up).
